Keith Richards Auctioning Off His First NFT to Benefit MusiCares
The Rolling Stones guitarist has teamed with OneOf, a Web3 company focused on creating an environmentally friendly way for musicians to mint NFTs.

OneOf — a green NFT platform tailored to the music business — has partnered with Keith Richards to auction off the Rolling Stones guitarist’s first-ever NFT for the MusiCares Charity Relief Auction.
The Richards NFT sale will comprise of a signed Gibson ES-335 guitar and a one-of-a-kind four-second video of the signing, minted as an NFT. Bidding begins Jan. 13 and will continue until 4 p.m. ET on Jan. 30.
Other items included in the upcoming MusiCares charity auction include pieces form Dolly Parton, Paul McCartney, BTS, Katy Perry and Bono. Proceeds from these sales go back to MusiCares, a nonprofit organization founded by the Recording Academy in 1989 to provide relief to musicians and music industry professionals with a spectrum of needs, including physical and mental health, addiction recovery, unforeseen personal emergencies and disaster relief. The 501c3 played a substantial role in helping the live music industry stay afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing relief as venues stayed shuttered for months.
The video NFT accompanying the signed Gibson guitar is powered by OneOf, a Web3 company focused on creating an environmentally friendly way for musicians to mint NFTs that help them connect directly to their fans. Unlike most NFT sales, the Keith Richards sale with OneOf will feature no blockchain transaction fees (also known as “gas” fees), which can be incredibly costly to the environment. Potential buyers are also able to buy the Keith Richards package using credit or debit cards as well as cryptocurrencies.
“We are honored to be the platform to mint the first-ever Keith Richards NFT,” says Adam Fell, OneOf co-founder & president of Quincy Jones Productions. “Keith is music royalty and we applaud him and his team for championing eco-friendly blockchain technology that can empower musicians for generations to come.”
Richards joins the likes of Whitney Houston, Doja Cat and more to mint their first NFTs through OneOf.
