Two boy bands and a girl group will join the lineup for this year’s KCON New York, the K-pop-oriented convention and music festival announced today.
Set to take place on July 6 and 7 at New York City’s Javits Center and Madison Square Garden, K-pop groups ATEEZ, EVERGLOW, and SF9 join boy bands TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) and NU’EST as part of the event’s concert lineup.
The three acts newly added to the KCON lineup each will bring something new to the mix. SF9 are known for their captivating stylistic concepts and have landed six albums on the World Albums chart since they got their start in 2016. They most recently released their album Narcissus in March.
Meanwhile, ATEEZ made their debut last year and have since gained a sizable following thanks to their dramatic musicality. They recently made their debut on the Social 50 chart, which followed their recent Stateside tour. The 8-member act most recently released their single “Say My Name” in January.
EVERGLOW are a brand new girl group who saw much love for their first single “Bon Bon Chocolat,” which debuted in the Top 5 on the World Digital Song Sales chart in March. KCON New York will mark their first-ever time performing in the U.S.
Both SF9 and Ateez recently hit up the U.S. touring circuit, and SF9 has attended KCON events in the past. This will be ATEEZ and Everglow’s first time making appearances at any North American KCON.
KCON New York, which will be followed by KCON Los Angeles in August, is an annual event that brings together fans of Korean pop culture. This is the first year the event will take place at its new New York City venues after previously being held at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center. Tickets for the concerts go on-sale on May 22nd at 3p.m. EST, and will start at $70 for one night or $120 for a combo ticket. Tickets for the convention go on-sale two days later on May 24 at 3p.m. EST.
