The big boost can be attributed to the continued popularity of the single’s recently released remix featuring Quavo. The revamp arrived on Oct. 6 and helps push a 36 percent streaming gain for the track in the week ending Oct. 19 (4.3 million streams earned). That follows a 40 percent lift in the previous frame, when it jumped to 3.1 million clicks. (The song’s popularity is mostly driven by its streaming success: 91 percent of its total points on the latest Hot Latin Songs chart were generated from streams.)
Karol G’s major label debut album Unstoppable (due out Friday via Universal Music Latino), was preceded by “Ahora Me Llama,” and two earlier top 40-charting hits on Hot Latin Songs: “Hello” (with Ozuna, peaking at No. 39) and “Casi Nada” (No. 33). All three tracks are included on the new album.
The 25-year-old artist previously opened for Luis Fonsi on the U.S. leg of his Love and Dance World Tour (in September) and turned in a guest spot at J Balvin‘s Energia World Tour stop in Miami on Oct. 13.
“Ahora Me Llama” also gives Bad Bunny his third top 10 on Hot Latin Songs — and all three have come in the past two months. He first hit the top 10 dated Sept. 9 with “Krippy Kush” (with Farruko and Rvssian) and then on Sept. 30 as the featured guest on Becky G‘s “Mayores.” Those move 11-18 and 6-5, on the latest chart, respectively.
“Mayores” continues to climb, thanks to gains in sales and streams: it’s up 20 percent in downloads sold (2,000 for the week) and 17 percent in streams (rising to 5.7 million).
Natti Natasha’s Back in Top 10 After Nearly Five Years: Elsewhere on Hot Latin Songs, Dominican reggaeton-pop singer Natti Natasha scores her second top 10 on the chart — and first since 2012 — as “Criminal,” with Ozuna, rises 13-9 in its eighth week on the ranking. The song — which powered almost entirely by its streams — jumps 13 percent to 4.8 million streams in the latest tracking frame.
Natti Natasha previously scored her only other top 10 as the featured artist on Dom Omar’s No. 1 hit “Dutty Love.” The track spent a week atop the list (dated April 7, 2012) and spent its final week in the top 10 on the tally dated Nov. 17, 2012.
