Bravado International Group Merchandising Services is suing clothing designer and retailer Joyrich for allegedly selling clothing and other merchandise that use the names, trademarks and images under license to the Universal Music Group licensing company.

According to the suit, filed in the U.S. Central District of California Court, the defendant distributes, advertises and sells unauthorized shirts, backpacks, shorts, socks and other items that contain trademarks or images of such artists as Kanye West, Drake, Justin Bieber, Metallica and the Rolling Stones.

Bravado is seeking a preliminary injunction enjoining the defendants from manufacturing, distributing, advertising and selling any merchandise that bear the names, trademarks and likenesses of the above named artists. While the amount of damages have not yet been determined, Bravado is seeking triple damages suffered by the plaintiff or triple the profit enjoyed by the defendant, whichever is greater; as well as attorney fees and costs.
Joyrich didn’t immediately respond to an e-mail requesting comment on the lawsuit while spokesman for the Universal Music Group was not available for comment.
