Poo Bear (real name: Jason Boyd) rises to No. 1 on Billboard‘s R&B Producers chart (dated Feb. 22), leading for the first time thanks to three production credits on Justin Bieber titles on the latest Hot R&B Songs chart.
Bieber’s newest single “Intentions” (featuring Quavo), which Poo Bear co-produced with The Audibles, debuts at No. 1 on Hot R&B Songs, followed by “Yummy” (co-produced with Kid Culture and Sasha Sirota) at No. 4 and “Get Me”(featuring Kehlani), co-produced with Vinylz, Boi-1da and CVRE, at No. 18.
“No Intentions” earns Poo Bear his third career No. 1 on the Hot R&B Songs chart as a producer (among eight total entries), following his credits on DJ Khaled’s “No Brainer,” featuring Bieber, Chance The Rapper and Quavo, and “Yummy.”
On the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, Poo Bear has 15 career production credits, two of which have reached the top 10 (“No Brainer” and “Yummy”).
Over on this week’s Hot 100 Songwriters chart, Roddy Ricch leads for a fifth week, thanks to his smash “The Box,” which tallies its sixth week at No. 1 on the Hot 100. 30Roc, who produced “The Box,” concurrently leads the Hot 100 Producers tally for a sixth week.
The weekly R&B Songwriters and R&B Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot R&B Songs chart; As with Billboard‘s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
