Justin Bieber Jumps to No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart
Bieber banks his third leader on the list. Plus, Lucas Nord & Tove Lo add a new chart-topper.
Justin Bieber scores his third No. 1 on Billboard‘s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated Jan. 2), as “Sorry” surges 2-1. It’s the second straight leader for Bieber, whose “What Do You Mean?” managed four weeks at the top, starting Oct. 31. Three years earlier, “As Long as You Love Me,” featuring Big Sean, spent a week at the summit.
“Sorry” is also on the verge of cresting Dance Club Songs, up 4-2 this week as the chart’s Greatest Gainer. In addition to the commercially available Latino Remix by J Balvin, mixes from DJ Kue, Mayfair Media and Wide Awake, among others, are leading Bieber’s charge up the dance charts.

As previously reported, “Sorry” hits No. 1 on the Pop Songs airplay chart and holds at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
‘ROOM’ FOR NEW TOP 10s: Also making moves on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Mako motors 19-5 with “Smoke Filled Room,” while Zhu x AlunaGeorge zooms 16-10 with “Automatic.” Mako, whose track also debuts at No. 40 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, hit the Dance/Mix Show Airplay top 10 once before: “Beam” reached No. 5 in May 2014. “Automatic” also marks the second top 10 each for Zhu and AlunaGeorge. Zhu rose to No. 3 with breakout hit “Faded” in October 2014, while AlunaGeorge enjoyed four weeks at No. 1 this past June with “You Know You Like It,” with DJ Snake.
‘THERE’ IS WHERE?: On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Diplo dips into the top 10 for the second time as a solo act with “Be Right There” (13-10). The track is the first Billboard chart hit for co-credited Canadian DJ Sleepy Tom (real name: Cam Tatham). “There” sold 5,000 downloads and collected 1 million U.S. streams in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music.
Diplo dominated Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for two weeks in July with his Skrillex and Justin Bieber collaboration, “Where Are U Now.” He remains at No. 1 for a 23rd week as a member of Major Lazer with “Lean On,” with DJ Snake and featuring MO. That track, No. 1 for all of 2015 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, needs only three more weeks at the top to tie Avicii’s record mark of 26 weeks at No. 1, set with “Wake Me Up!”
NEWS YOU’LL ‘LOVE’: Swedish act Lucas Nord notches his first Dance Club Songs No. 1 with “Run on Love,” featuring Tove Lo (2-1). It’s the third straight leader for Tove Lo, who topped the chart with “Heroes (We Could Be)” in December 2014 (credited to Alesso featuring Tove Lo) and “Talking Body” in April. Remixes from Dave Aude, Calloway & Rosta, Emil Hero and others helped Nord and Lo run all the way to the top rung.
