Jay Z Defends Tidal on Twitter: The Streaming Service Is ‘Doing Just Fine’
The music mogul tweeted on Sunday (April 26) that his new music subscription service "is doing just fine. We have over 770,000 subs. We have been in business less than one month."

Jay Z came to the defense of Tidal in a series of Tweets on Sunday (April 26).
Tidal Drops Out Of Top 750 on Apple’s App Store
The music mogul tweeted to his 3.1 million followers on Sunday (April 26) that his new music subscription service “is doing just fine. We have over 770,000 subs. We have been in business less than one month.”

Using the hashtag “TidalFacts,” Jay Z sent out numerous other tweets about the service, noting that the “iTunes Store wasn’t built in a day” and that Tidal pays “75% royalty rate to ALL artists, writers and producers — not just the founding members on stage.”
EDM star Deadmau5 also came out in support of Tidal on Sunday, tweeting, “Despite whatever dumbshit preconceptions you may or may not have about tidal, im still behind it. Im in it for industry growth, not PR.”
‘Tidal Blew It’: All the Artists That Have Hammered Tidal
Jay Z’s twitter defense could be in response to a Page Six article that cited sources who said that Apple is interfering with Tidal in an attempt to crush the service ahead of Apple’s Beats Music relaunch this summer.
As previously reported, Tidal — which launched on March 30 — had fallen out of Apple’s top 750 apps, after a peak at No. 83 on April 7 (that data according to tracking site App Annie). It’s been a tough month for the streaming service. Many artists have publicly criticized the company, it’s CEO was recently fired, and its leader has resorted to calling subscribers.
