Interscope Records Opens Nashville Outpost

A May 16 showcase at Music City venue The Basement officially kicked off the new Universal Music Group venture.

Interscope Records officially launched a Nashville outpost with a May 16 showcase at Music City venue The Basement, part of the annual Music Biz Conference, being held May 16 through 18. Among the new artists to take the stage were rock band Goodbye June, the Ken Levitan-managed roots rocker Billy Raffoul and Elizabeth Huett, a singer-songwriter and backup singer for Taylor Swift

In an article published by the Tennessean, Interscope president of A&R Aaron Bay-Schuck declared, “There’s no more happening place than Nashville. It presents an opportunity to get into business with country acts, with pop acts, with rock acts.”
