Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA) has promoted Nicole Wyskoarko to executive vp/co-head of A&R, alongside Sam Riback, who has served as head of A&R since 2016.

Since joining IGA in 2018 as executive vp of urban operations, Wyskoarko has overseen the label’s urban A&R department through a period of landmark success driven by acts like Juice WRLD, DaBaby, Lil Mosey, Ella Mai, Mustard, Summer Walker and 6lack. She’ll continue to spearhead the label’s urban A&R team in her new role, reporting, as before, to IGA chairman/CEO John Janick.

She will also collaborate with Riback, who oversees pop and rock A&R, to transform IGA’s various A&R teams into a cohesive unit.

“Nicole has proven to be a leader within Interscope, a mentor to her team, a savvy dealmaker and an important voice within our industry,” Janick said. “This promotion reflects her success and amazing track record with our diverse roster of artists. I am excited to have Nicole and Sam as co-heads of A&R as we continue to forge IGA’s amazing cultural legacy.”

Added IGA executive vp Joie Manda: “Nicole’s incredible A&R acumen, her ability to empower her team and collaborate with our partners while
keeping the big picture in focus has made her an invaluable member of the IGA team.”

A Los Angeles native, Wyskoarko landed a key internship with Universal Music Group’s business and legal affairs department while attending Brooklyn Law School. After graduation, the gig turned into a full-time job, and she stayed on at UMG for 11 years, rising to senior vp of business & legal affairs for the company’s East Coast labels (Island, Def Jam and Republic).

“Working in this role at Interscope has been a lifelong dream,” Wyskoarko said. “I am fortunate to have the support of executives like John and Joie Manda who have always backed my vision and supported our journey to create opportunities for our partners, our artists and our A&R team so that they can be successful at the very highest level. I’m looking forward to furthering our progress and working closely with Sam to create the best A&R team anywhere in the world.”
