In addition to royalty collection, this partnership will include A&R collaboration across the two companies' worldwide roster of songwriters and producers.

Los Angeles-based Insomniac Music Group has partnered with Sony Music Publishing for global publishing administration, the companies tell Billboard. In addition to royalty collection, the partnership will include A&R collaboration across the two companies’ worldwide roster of songwriters and producers.

Insomniac Music Group is an entity of Insomniac Events, the Los Angeles-based production company that puts on many of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals including EDC Las Vegas, EDC Mexico and many other festivals and club shows across North America, Europe and beyond. Insomniac Music Group represents a plethora of electronic artists and electronic imprints including Insomniac Records, HARD Records, Bassrush Records, Slander & NGHTMRE’s Gud Vibrations, Wax Motif’s Divided Souls and Factory 93 Records.

“It’s an honor to work with Sony, who is the world’s largest publishing company,” says Pasquale Rotella, founder and CEO of Insomniac. “Expanding our reach to support Insomniac Music Group artists to showcase their work strategically worldwide is a top priority. I’m excited for this new partnership and know we can support songwriters in a unique and powerful way.”

The partnership provides Insomniac Music Group with an established administration partner to expand the current offerings available to Insomniac songwriters, including real-time accounting, global presence and a new online royalty portal.

“Insomniac is the gold standard for dance music, and we look forward to working alongside them to build a publishing company of their customary prestige,” says Will Skalmoski, Sony Music Publishing’s director of creative. “Thanks to Pasquale, Joe, and their team for entrusting us with this new venture.”

“[Sony Music Publishing’s] vision for where we can take publishing under Insomniac Music Group is totally aligned with the goals we have set out since our launch,” adds Joe Wiseman, director of Insomniac Music Group. “Developing new acts, providing more resources to our roster, and pushing for new ways to expose the music we release, can be bolstered with a partner like Sony Music Publishing. We are thrilled to begin this new chapter with them.”
