Insomniac Launches Music Group to Offer Distribution, Label Management: Exclusive

Dance fans know Insomniac as the name behind large-scale electronic events from the Electric Daisy Carnivals in Las Vegas and around the world, as well as annual gatherings Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Forest Festival and more. Music lovers might also know that Insomniac runs its own record label, but now, it will do even more for the artists it supports.

Insomniac Music Group extends the Insomniac label's services to offer distribution and management resources for independent labels. Insomniac has spawned offshoot labels including Bassrush, HARD Recs, IN / ROTATION, Dreamstate Records and the Discovery Project, but with Insomniac Music Group, it expands its works with Chris Lake’s Black Book Records, Fisher’s Catch & Release, and NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations.

"Having been one of the first partners to back our Gud Vibrations events … Insomniac has been instrumental in the growth of NGHTMRE and SLANDER's touring business," manager Steve Haddad is quoted in a press release. "It was an obvious choice for us to work with them on the new label. The entire Insomniac Music Group team has been a pleasure to work with and have created a great foundation for our back office, allowing us to focus on A&R and the other creative elements of our label."

Insomniac has a large cultural footprint and the kind of budget that can really move music out into the world.

"The team at Insomniac Music Group has years of experience, and has been a solid foundation for my label," Lake said. "The way they've helped gain exposure for tracks like 'Deceiver' and 'Turn Off The Lights' has truly elevated the music on Black Book." Insomniac Music Group also distributed "Losing It" by breakout artist FISHER. The record has nearly 25 million Spotify streams alone.
