Hot 100 Chart Moves: Drake Extends Record for Most Hits Among Soloists With Two Debuts

Drake ups his count to 157 entries, led by "Signs" at No. 36. Plus, chart action for A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie & Bruno Mars.

As previously reported, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, leads the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated July 15) for an eighth week. Plus, Imagine Dragons‘ “Believer” surges 11-6, marking the band’s third top 10 and first in three-and-a-half years, as well as the first rock song to hit the Hot 100’s top 10 this year.

Who else makes notable Hot 100 chart moves this week?


Drake, “Signs”
The track enters the Hot 100 as the chart’s Hot Shot Debut (for the week’s top arrival) at No. 36, launching at No. 16 on Digital Song Sales (30,000 downloads sold) and No. 31 on Streaming Songs (11.8 million U.S. streams) in the week ending June 29, according to Nielsen Music. The song was released commercially following its premiere in Louis Vuitton’s SS18 men’s fashion show at Paris Fashion Week on June 22. The same day, it hit No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart.

Drake additionally debuts at No. 71 on the Hot 100 as featured on Metro Boomin‘s “No Complaints,” also featuring Offset (of Migos), likewise a new entry at No. 43 on Digital Song Sales (14,000). With the bows, Drake extends his lead for the most Hot 100 appearances among soloists (including lead and featured billings), dating to the chart’s Aug. 4, 1958, inception. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie feat. Kodak Black, “Drowning”
The New York rapper notches his first top 40 Hot 100 hit, as the Kodak Black-assisted “Drowning” rises 41-39 in its 13th week on the chart. Streams account for the bulk of the track’s Hot 100 chart points, as it also hits a new high on Streaming Songs (23-19; 14.7 million, up 7 percent).

Bruno Mars, “Versace on the Floor”
The third single from 24K Magic re-enters the Hot 100 at a new peak of No. 78; it first dented the chart at a prior No. 98 high in December. The ’90s-reminsicent R&B ballad debuts at No. 48 on Radio Songs with 23 million in all-format audience, up 34 percent. The song, which Mars performed at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards (May 21), also pushes 28-25 on Adult Pop Songs and 33-27 on Pop Songs.

On June 26, a somewhat more up-tempo version of “Versace,” with David Guetta, was released, sparking its 59 percent gain to 7,000 sold in the week ending June 29.
