Harry Styles Reaches Alternative Airplay Chart for First Time With ‘As It Was’

The track concurrently tops the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh week.

For the first time, Harry Styles has a song on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart.

Styles’ “As It Was” debuts at No. 37 on the list dated June 25, having received spins on seven of the 59 stations currently reporting to chart, according to Luminate. It’s led by support on KYSR Los Angeles (62 plays in the tracking week), KUCD Honolulu (58) and SiriusXM’s Alt Nation (38).

The song tops the Pop Airplay chart for a sixth week and Adult Pop Airplay for a fifth frame, rises 8-7 on Adult Contemporary and holds at No. 16 on Adult Alternative Airplay (where it reached No. 15).

“Was” became Styles’ second entry on Adult Alternative Airplay. “Sign of the Times,” his debut solo single apart from One Direction, hit No. 25 in June 2017.

“Was” also reaches a new No. 34 high on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, up 12% to 1.2 million audience impressions.

After topping the all-format Radio Songs chart for four weeks, “Was” ranks at No. 2 with 77 million in audience.

The lead single from Styles third solo LP, Harry’s House, concurrently rules the multi-metric Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh week. A second song from the set, “Late Night Talking,” bounds 18-14 on Pop Airplay and 31-25 on Adult Pop Airplay. The album launched atop the June 4 Billboard 200 with 521,000 equivalent album units, the biggest week for an album this year.
