Halsey Debuts Atop Bandsintown + Billboard + Top Artists Index

Halsey and Roddy Rich crown the newest Bandsintown + Billboard Touring Indexes among major and rising artists, respectively.

Following the Jan. 8 announcement of the North American leg of Halsey‘s Manic World Tour, the singer bounds onto the Bandsintown + Billboard Touring Indexes, topping the U.S. Top Artists ranking and debuting at No. 2 on the Global Top Artists index.

It will be a busy 2020 for Halsey, who begins the Manic World Tour in Madrid at the WizInk Center on Feb. 6, touring throughout Europe until March 12. She’ll then play shows in Japan and South Korea in May before launching the North American leg June 2 in Auburn, Wash. The 27-date sweep through the U.S. and Canada plays predominantly in outdoor amphitheaters, following the 2017-18 Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour, which mixed domestic arenas and amphitheaters.

After last week’s announcement, U.S. ticket clicks on Bandsintown surged by 126%, in addition to a 24% uptick in event RSVPs and a 2.5% increase in overall trackers. Logically, her global increase in engagement was softer, as the European and Asian legs had already been on sale and experienced increase in traffic upon their own announcements.

The Bandsintown + Billboard Index includes four new weekly charts: Global Top Artists, U.S. Top Artists, Global Rising Artists, and U.S. Rising Artists. The Top Artists rankings include all acts with 250,000 or more Bandsintown trackers, while the Rising Artists lists feature acts with 10,000-249,999 trackers.

These weekly rankings are based on percentage growth in overall engagement during a rolling month, including new trackers, ticket clicks, and event RSVPs (all four indices will update weekly, using data from the previous 30 days). Fans can become a “tracker” of their favorite artists on bandsintown.com by searching for any given act. All artist pages host a complete touring schedule, links to music and merchandise, and allows fans to post show reviews. Each individual show listing has options to click through to purchase a ticket link (ticket clicks) in addition to links to rsvp within Bandsintown, by selecting “interested” or “going.”

Both the global and U.S. trending charts are led by ascendant hip-hop star Roddy Ricch. This week, he tops both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 charts, claiming the country’s biggest album, single, and now, the fastest growing touring footprint among rising artists.
