Haley McCollister Promoted to President of Messina Touring Group’s Nashville Office

The role is a new milestone in McCollister's impressive 12-year rise at the concert promotion company.

Haley McCollister has been promoted to president of Messina Touring Group’s Nashville office, hitting a new milestone as part of her impressive 12-year rise at one of the country’s most successful concert promotion companies.

Founder and chief executive Louis Messina hired the Clemson University graduate in 2010 (her first music industry job out of college) to handle ticket requests for Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now tour. She quickly rose through the ranks at the company, whose touring clients include George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Ed Sheeran and the Lumineers. She spearheaded Sheeran’s 2018 tour, which sold a reported 1.1 million tickets, and oversaw the Lumineers current Brightside world tour, which has reported 462,223 in ticket sales across 34 dates with over $26 million in revenue.

McCollister tells Billboard that her two biggest moments for at Messina Touring Group have been the Lumineers recent hometown show in Denver at Coors Field (“their first stadium show,” McCollister says) and  Sheeran’s first stadium headlining show at Gillette Stadium in Boston in 2015.

“We always knew he could get to that level and seeing it all happen in real time was incredible,” she says. As part of her new responsibilities, McCollister will shift her focus to larger growth strategy initiatives for the company and artists it works with.

“I’ve had a front row seat watching Louis grow this company and Im so excited about the opportunity ahead,” she tells Billboard.

As for Messina, he says the promotion of McCollister is well deserved and a sign that he believes the future and legacy of the company is in great hands.

“She is such a natural leader for the great team we have over here – I have to pat myself on the back for having so many great employees,” says Messina. “They are incredible people — Sara Winter, my son Louis Messina [Jr.], Bridget Bauer, Mike Dugan, Kate and Rome McMahon, Rachel Powers. I could go on – we have developed a great organization. I want the nod and the wink, not just for me, but for everybody that works with me.”

“I want them to be recognized,” Messina continued. “Haley doesn’t need my permission to make a decision – none of my people do. I believe in empowerment just like I believe in the artists I work for. At the end of the day, we’re still a mom and pop company. We’re all the moms and the pops.”
