The set, which follows Gravity, Pt. 1 (EP) (No. 12, last December) and Gravity, Pt. 1 (Remixes) (No. 20, March), starts with 5,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music.
Concurrently, the new LP’s “Body Back,” featuring Maia Wright, bows at No. 14 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, drawing 1.6 million U.S. streams.
‘LIFE’ FINDS A WAY TO TOP 10: Additionally on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, The Black Eyed Peas bounce to their first top 10, and J Balvin rings up his third, as “RITMO (Bad Boys for Life)” rises 11-9, bounding by 89% to 4.1 million streams.
NICE, WERK: Dirty Werk, the of duo DJ Bam Bam (real name David Boenzi) and Steve Smooth (Steven Stanula) notch their second Dance Club Songs No. 1 with “No Letting Go.” The track was remixed by Kue, Bad Boy Bill and Lemi Vice, among others.
The acts first shared the No. 1 spot with “Stand Up” for a week in September 2018.
“With a resurgence of the dancehall sound, we wanted to do something along those lines,” Smooth tells Billboard. “We came across Wayne Wonder’s ‘No Letting Go’ [which hit No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2003] and felt it would be a great song to cover, adding in today’s sounds and production to make a current-sounding pop record. A good friend of ours, DJ E-Smoove, linked us up with singer M. Terrel, who did an amazing job covering Wonder’s vocal track.”
