Fast-rising K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE has signed with Republic Records in the U.S., beginning with the stateside release of their third EP, I Trust, out now.
Republic says the EP, which is inspired by the theme of self-assurance, marks (G)I-DLE’s official U.S. debut. After signing with ASIAN AGENT late last year, the group has been making moves to expand their fan base in the U.S. market.
“We are excited to be teaming up with the multi-talented girl group (G)I-DLE as they make their highly anticipated debut into the U.S. marketplace,” said Republic president/COO and co-founder Avery Lipman. “The new mini album, I Trust, launches the group stateside as we endeavor to accelerate their trajectory towards global stardom.”
I trust is already making waves on iTunes, where it debuted at No. 1 on iTunes overall top album charts in 39 markets. It also entered at No. 1 on the iTunes Pop Albums Chart and K-Pop Albums Chart. The music video for lead single “Oh My God” has notched more than 41 million views on YouTube.
