A new music festival is coming next summer. The 20/20 Summer Fest, focusing on fans of Christian, Latin Christian and Gospel hip-hop, is slated to take place in Los Angeles at the Banc of California Stadium on July 17-18, 2020.
The 20/20 Summer Fest will be executive produced by Christian hip-hop artist Aulsondro “Novelist” Hamilton, aka Emcee N.I.C.E., and Chantal “Chanie G” Grayson. Both are also the co-owners of Dash Radio outlet God’s House of Hip-Hop (GH3), which is marking its one-year anniversary today (Aug. 20). GH3 received the Stellar Awards’ first Gospel Hip-Hop Station of the Year honor in April. The Los Angeles-based outlet is part of Dash’s 80-station roster with Tyler the Creator, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Kylie Jenner among the various station hosts.
Lineup announcements will begin in January 2020. Organizers are planning for 75 artists to perform, with the event expected to draw 30,000 attendees. More about GH3 and the 20/20 Summer Fest can be found at www.2020SummerFest.com.
“This will be an environment where people can fellowship among like-minded believers and turn up for the culture,” says Emcee N.I.C.E. in a statement announcing the two-day event. “It’s not a conference. It’s not a seminar. There are no workshops. This is just straight ‘festival music ministry’ from Christian and Gospel hip-hop artists from the U.S. and around the world.”
Explaining the fest’s title, Grayson adds, “Without sounding cliché, 20/20 Summer Fest is the realization that through your faith perfect vision exists. God’s plan for you is pure. I want our guests to feel the essence of being alive and witness great-hip hop with lyrics that serve as a compass for the lost and weary and/or reassurance for those that are standing on solid ground.”
