Def Jam has named longtime staffer Gabe Tesoriero as its new executive vice president, media and artist relations, CEO Steve Bartels announced today (Feb. 19).
Tesoriero, based in New York, will be responsible for media, publicity and advertising across the label’s East and West Coast offices.
“I have worked with Gabe personally for over ten years and am excited to be announcing his well-deserved promotion,” said Bartels in a statement.
“I’m grateful to Steve Bartels for the faith and opportunity to help him guide — and in whatever way I can — lead this great company forward,” said Tesoriero in a statement.
Tesoriero will be taking over the duties of Laura Swanson, who recently jumped to Epic Records. He will work closely with No I.D., who was named evp of A&R this past November.
Notably, Tesoriero has worked with Kanye West throughout the producer/rapper’s career, and worked closely with Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Sean Paul (while at VP Records) and Tuff Gong Records.
