(G)I-DLE Hit New Peak on World Digital Song Sales Chart With ‘Hann (Alone)’

(G)I-DLE is proving their hot debut was no fluke with their latest single "Hann (Alone)" marking the group's best sales week for a song in America to date

(G)I-DLE is proving their hot debut was no fluke with their latest single “Hann (Alone).”

The new girl group hits a new peak on Billboard‘s World Digital Song Sales chart where “Hann (Alone)” debuts at No. 2. The whistle hook–heavy track sold more than 1,000 copies in the week ending Aug. 16, according to Nielsen Music, to mark the group’s best sales week in America for a song to date. “Hann (Alone)” is also the best-selling K-pop song in America this week, taking the title from iKON who held the honor for the last two weeks with “Killing Me.”

Their second official single, “Hann (Alone)” surpasses the chart success of debut single “Latata,” which bowed at No. 11 on World Digital Song Sales before jumping up to No. 4 in the following week. To date, “Latata” has sold 3,000 downloads in America while its parent EP, titled I Am which peaked at No. 5 on the World Albums chart, has sold 1,000 to date.

The latest from (G)I-DLE — which the group exclusively told Billboard is a song that “has the feelings of summer, but a different, unique feeling” — proves the group has already a strong sonic identity, showing a more empowered and fierce style, as well as a go-to composer and producer in leader Soyeon, who wrote and co-produced “Hann (Alone)” and five out of six tracks of (G)I-DLE’s debut EP, including “Latata.”
