The FORM Arcosanti festival is returning for its fourth year in the Arizona desert.

The FORM Arcosanti festival is returning for its fourth year in the Arizona desert with a new slate of programming and a star-studded lineup headlined by Solange, James Blake, Skrillex and Future Islands. The “experimental” three-day festival, set for May 12-14, unveils its schedule and cultural programming details today.
Curated by indie band Hundred Waters with an assist from Moses Sumney (both will be performing as well), the festival will host just 1,500 people, who can submit an application to attend. In addition to the musical performances — Father John Misty, Thundercat, Noname, How to Dress Well, Kelela and Omar Souleyman, among others, are also on the bill — FORM had previously announced that Pathway to Paris and Solange’s Saint Heron would be curating activations, and revealed details on those, as well as Planned Parenthood’s first-ever festival activation, as well.
Pathway to Paris’ climate-centered presentation will include panels and performances on fighting “climate injustice”; Saint Heron’s is being billed as a “multidisciplinary experience” that will include artist talks and a “musically botanical experience” that will be called The Secret Life of Plants; while Planned Parenthood will host a panel covering tech, activism and social justice and virtual reality screenings of its Across the Line film.
There will also be installations hosted by the Phoenix Art Museum (including pieces by Lauren Strohacker, Kendra Sollars and Andy Brown) and screenings of films like the climate change documentary Chasing Coral that focuses on coral reefs and the doc Whose Streets?, which examines the protests in Ferguson, Mo. following the police killing of Michael Brown in August 2014. There will also be all kinds of yoga, meditation, guided tours and hikes, stargazing and a 3D sound space, which will host performances.
