Exclusive: ‘Fantasia’ Video Game Soundtrack Set for Release

Nile Rodgers‘ Sumthing Else Music Works will release a score album to accompany the new video game based on the 1940 Disney animated classic Fantasia.

Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved Original Soundtrack, featuring new performances of classical masterpieces recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and Chamber Orchestra of London, will be released Oct. 21. The album also includes the game’s orchestral themes scored by Inon Zur and the music team at the music-oriented videogame company Harmonix.

A “Director’s Cut” soundtrack will include remixes of the classical selections and original score B-sides for collectors and will be released digitally at Sumthing.com.

Inspired by Walt Disney’s classic animated film Fantasia, Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved takes players on a motion-controlled journey through worlds of music and magic. The game will also be released Oct. 21.
