It’s Fall Out Boy’s ‘Mania’ vs. ‘Greatest Showman’ for No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart
Fall Out Boy's new studio album, "Mania," is battling it out for No. 1 on next week's Billboard 200 chart with the soundtrack to "The Greatest Showman."

Fall Out Boy’s new studio album Mania is battling it out for No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 chart with the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman. According to industry forecasters, Mania and Showman might each earn around 105,000 to 110,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Jan. 25. Mania was released Jan. 19 through DCD2/Island Records and follows the band’s last studio set, 2015’s American Beauty/American Psycho, which opened at No. 1 with 218,000 units, according to Nielsen Music.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new Feb. 3, 2018-dated Billboard 200 chart (where Fall Out Boy may debut at No. 1) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, Jan. 28.
If Mania opens at No. 1, it will mark the fourth chart-topper for Fall Out Boy, following American Beauty/American Psycho, Save Rock and Roll (2013) and Infinity on High (2007).
As for The Greatest Showman, the album already spent two weeks at No. 1 on the lists dated Jan. 13 and Jan. 20. It slipped to No. 2 in the most recently published chart, trailing Camila Cabello’s arriving Camila at No. 1.
Fall Out Boy’s Mania will likely be the only debut in the top 10 of next week’s Billboard 200 chart. The next highest arrivals will probably come from the Kidz Bop Kids’ Kidz Bop 37, LANCO’s Hallelujah Nights, Black Label Society’s Grimmest Hits and Eden’s Vertigo.
