Executive Turntable: New Hires at Capitol Records Nashville, Def Jam Records, PledgeMusic and More

A list of moves and shakes across the music business, including at Capitol Records Nashville, DefJam Records, PledgeMusic and more.

— Ed St John has joined the board of directors for Australian digital content distributor Valleyarm. St John previously served as Managing Director at BMG and CEO of Warner Music Australia, as well as Chairman of the recording industry association ARIA. 

— Def Jam Recordings has made promotions in the Urban Department for Bill Evans to Senior Vice President and Natina Nimene to Vice President. Evans will oversee Urban Promotion initiatives at radio as well as managing the field staff. Nimene will serve the role of supporting Def Jam’s national field staff and help orchestrate the roll–out of new record releases to Urban Radio Formats. 

— Def Jam has also named Quincy Jackson Vice President of Marketing, where she will be responsible for the ideation, development and execution of marketing strategies for Def Jam’s artists. Prior to her appointment, Jackson served as principal of the Quincy Marketing Group.

— Wildlife Entertainment has appointed Emma Greengrass to Managing Director, where she will report to CEO Ian McAndrew. Most recently, she has worked with the management team  at Caroline International, where she served as the UK Label Head.

— Adam Lekach has joined PledgeMusic Names as Senior Vice President of Marketing. He will oversee the company’s global marketing and campaign management strategy as well as public relations strategies for key campaigns and initatives.  Lekach most recently served as Vice President Media and Partnerships for Kemado Media Group.

— PledgeMusic has also appointed Adam Lekach to Senior Vice President, Marketing within its executive management team. Reporting to CEO Dominic Pandiscia, Lekach will oversee the company’s global marketing and campaign management strategy. Previously, the industry veteran served as Vice President Media and Partnerships for Kemado Media Group, as well as having served in Sony Music Entertainment. 

— Stingray Digital Group Inc. has announced the appointment of Rick Bergan as Head of Content Distribution for the United States, where he will work with SVP of U.S. sales Brian Decker to forge strategic relationships with sales agents and TV operators in the United States. Bergan has over 20 years of experience in digital media and the music industry, and previously served as Executive Vice President, Business Development and Sales at OneTwoSea. 

— Annie Sandor and Mara Sidweber have been promoted as Regional Directors of Capitol Records Nashville. Annie Sandor will serve as Director of Regional Promotions, Southeast, and Mara Sidweber will serve as Director of Regional Promotions, Southwest. Both women will run point at radio stations in their respective regions for the label’s roster of artists. 

— Songkick has added Nick Fishbaugh to the company’s business development team in Los Angeles, and will help expand its west coast offices. Fishbaugh formerly served as senior director of global music partnerships at Shazam, where he led the music discovery platform’s global music partnerships team.

— Primary Wave Entertainment has announced a strategic alliance with Barbara Rose Entertainment. Rose joins the firm as Partner/Talent Management: Music and will be based in the company’s Los Angeles office. Having been nominated for Emmy Award in the past as a producer on “A Tribute to James Taylor,” Rose will now collaborate in all areas of the company’s operations. 

— Allison Kaye has been promoted from General Manager to President of Music at SB Projects. Kaye will be responsible for assisting with managing and operating the company’s music management business. She has previously led the positioning of SB Projects among the industry elite.
