Latin pop star Enrique Iglesias and rapper Pitbull top the weekly slate of Hot Tours with $13.5 million in ticket sales reported from the 2015 leg of their joint tour through North American markets.
Latin pop star Enrique Iglesias and rapper Pitbull top the weekly slate of Hot Tours (see list, below) with $13.5 million in ticket sales reported from the 2015 leg of their joint tour through North American markets. The four-week run is the pair’s second trek through the U.S. since last fall. They played their first date on Sept. 12 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. and continued touring through Oct. 28 with more than 300,000 tickets sold in 21 cities. The co-headliners extended the tour into 2015, kicking off the winter swing through 12 cities on Jan. 27 in El Paso, Texas.
Pitbull & Ne-Yo Enter Hot 100 Top 10
Sales from both North American legs of the tour totaled $39 million from 462,349 sold seats at 36 performances, all sellouts. The top-grossing venue during the tour, Staples Center in Los Angeles, hosted the duo during both outings — two nights last fall (Oct. 10-11) and again on Feb. 13. The combined gross for all three concerts was $4.8 million with attendance logged at 46,298. Throughout the tour, the show opener was Latin rhythm artist J Balvin.
Following at No. 2 on the Hot Tours recap is country superstar Jason Aldean with the first six dates reported from his Burn It Down tour’s winter trek that kicked off in mid-February. The tour was extended into 2015 after grossing $42 million from its initial six-month run last year. This year’s effort, featuring Cole Swindell and Tyler Farr in supporting slots, is booked in arenas through May. Afterward, Aldean will merge the tour with Kenny Chesney’s stadium run, dubbed the Big Revival tour, for ten dates this summer.

Maroon 5 scores a ranking on Hot Tours (No. 3) with box office grosses reported from two sold out concerts on the band’s 2015 world tour. On the road in support of its Interscope Records release, V that debuted last summer, the pop rock group played to sellout crowds in both Atlanta and Nashville. Philips Arena reported 14,620 sold tickets from the Atlanta market on Feb. 19, generating $1.2 million in sales. The following week, the band drew 16,574 fans to Music City on Feb. 27 with a $1.3 million gross reported at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
