Emeli Sande Launches New Management Company With Roc Nation
Emeli Sandé and Roc Nation announce a partnership to form a new management company, Jupiter Management.

Emeli Sandé has stayed out of the spotlight for the most part since the success of her debut album Our Version of Events in 2012. But as she gets back on her music grind, she’ll be moving forward with her own management company, Jupiter Management, which she launched this week in partnership with Roc Nation.
The move means Sandé has split from her longtime manager Adrian Sykes, who has shepherded the 28-year-old singer’s career since she was 16. There doesn’t appear to be any hard feelings, however, as Sandé thanked Sykes in a long Instagram caption announcing the Roc Nation deal. “I love my former manager, he had been a father figure to me since I moved to London at 16, we had such an incredible journey together,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m so thankful to him & his family for all their love and support & I’m immensely proud of what we achieved together. As I grew & changed rapidly from a girl into a woman though, I felt I had to begin to find the perfect match for me at this stage in my life & career.”
That perfect match will include Ruth Titmarsh, who will head up Jupiter alongside Sandé and who the singer said had supported her since “day zero.” “I feel excited, energised and surrounded by a team that makes me feel loved, respected and fully understood,” Sandé wrote. “The music is very real, it’s my diary over these past few years. The highs, the lows and everything in-between, I wanted to tell the whole truth with no decorations. I want us to meet for real this time.”
Also in the Instagram caption — we told you it was a long one — Sandé explained her hiatus from music following her debut LP. “I’ve been away so long because I desperately needed to experience real life,” she wrote. “To pop my bubble and learn how to live, how to breath[e], to embrace self love & become completely comfortable, certain & proud of the woman I had become.”
Roc Nation’s venture deal with Jupiter Management is the latest in a string of similar partnerships that Jay Z‘s company has signed in the past few months. In November, the company partnered with Phil McIntyre’s Philymack, home to Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and DNCE, while in October it teamed with New Community, which boasts Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Julian Casablancas and the Voids and James Vincent McMorrow, among others.
