Elton John scores his record-extending 40th top 10 on Billboard‘s Adult Contemporary radio airplay chart as his and Dua Lipa‘s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” rises from No. 11 to No. 10 on the list dated Sept. 25.

John has collected his 40 AC top 10s over a span of 50-plus years, having reached the region with his first entry, “Your Song,” which hit No. 9 in February 1971. He had last ascended to the top 10 with “Answer in the Sky” (No. 7, January 2005). Sixteen of his entries, marking another record, have hit No. 1.

Here’s an updated look at the acts with the most AC top 10s, dating to the chart’s July 17, 1961, inception:

40, Elton John
38, Neil Diamond
35, Barbra Streisand
31, Elvis Presley
29, Dionne Warwick
28, Barry Manilow
28, Kenny Rogers
26, Whitney Houston
24, Chicago
24, James Taylor
24, Bobby Vinton

In “Cold Heart,” released Aug. 13 on Mercury/EMI/Interscope Records, John sings part of his 1990 hit “Sacrifice” and Lipa reprises his 1972 classic “Rocket Man” (the originals of which rose to Nos. 3 and 39 on AC, respectively), as well as his 1983 single “Kiss the Bride.” (The three songs hit respective highs of Nos. 18, 6 and 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, where “Cold Heart” has so far hit No. 81.) Australian trio Pnau sports co-writing and co-production credit on “Cold Heart.”

John’s new AC top 10 concurrently climbs 22-19 on Adult Pop Airplay, where it’s his first entry since 2002, and 34-31 on Pop Airplay, where it’s his first since 1998.

Meanwhile, Lipa leads AC for an eighth week with “Levitating.” It’s her first No. 1 among four top 10s, including “Cold Heart.”
