Elle King & Royal Blood Make Regal Moves on Rock Charts

King's 'Ex's & Oh's' rises on the rock charts while debuting on the Billboard Hot 100 & Royal Blood notches its first leader on Mainstream Rock Songs.

Elle King‘s “Ex’s & Oh’s” marks a milestone in its methodical rise, debuting on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 96. The singer/songwriter’s first hit, a mix of folk-rock, blues and retro-soul, maintains its No. 2 peak on Adult Alternative Songs and zooms 8-4 on Alternative Songs, while reaching a new peak (No. 7) on Hot Rock Songs.The track is from King’s debut album Love Stuff, which started at its No. 8 highpoint on Top Rock Albums on the chart dated March 7 with 8,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music. The set lifts 26-24 on the list dated July 25, selling 5,000 in the tracking week. “Ex’s” has also gained exposure from its synch in promos for HBO Now. It’s sold 205,000 downloads to date, according to Nielsen Music.On Mainstream Rock Songs, Royal Blood rules with “Little Monster” (3-1), the U.K. duo’s first leader on the airplay tally. The pair previously rose as high as No. 2 with “Out of the Black” in June 2014. “Monster” also hits a new peak (No. 18) on Alternative Songs.
