El-P and Longtime Manager Join Monotone Management
One half of Run The Jewels El-P and his manager Amaechi Uzoigwe have joined Monotone Inc.

El-P’s illustrious career has been blooming anew of late due to his work with Killer Mike in Run The Jewels, and this week the Brooklyn rapper/producer is making moves on the business side of things as well. El, born Jaime Maline, and manager Amaechi Uzoigwe, who also co-manages RTJ, announced that they will join Ian Montone’s company Monotone Inc., where the duo will continue working together and with Run The Jewels, as well as on further projects moving forward.
Monotone’s eclectic and diverse roster includes Jack White, Danger Mouse, the reunited LCD Soundsystem, Vampire Weekend, Jamie Foxx, Foster The People and the Shins, among a slew of others. “We work with the best creative minds in the artist community, so bringing El-P and Amaechi into Monotone makes perfect sense,” Montone said in a statement announcing the additions.
El has been in the studio of late working on Run The Jewels 3, which he teased on Instagram in December. That would be the follow up to October 2014’s RTJ 2, which was remixed in the most ridiculous, El-P way possible last September as the charity project Meow The Jewels which, of course, was crafted out of cat sounds. Needless to say, RTJ 3 is highly anticipated by fans, though it currently doesn’t have a release date.
