Drake’s ‘Views’ Set for No. 1 Return on Billboard 200 Chart

It appears Drake's "Views" album is only taking a short vacation from the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart, as industry forecasters suggest the set will jump back to the top next week.

It appears Drake’s Views album is only taking a short vacation from the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart, as industry forecasters suggest the set will jump back to the top next week. Sources indicate the effort could earn around 100,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 14.

A return to No. 1 for Views would give the set its 10th nonconsecutive week atop the list. The album spent its first nine weeks in the penthouse, then slipped to No. 2 in the most recent tracking frame when Blink-182’s California arrived at No. 1.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new July 30-dated Billboard 200 chart — where Views could return to No. 1 — is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, July 17.

The highest debut on the forthcoming Billboard 200 will likely be ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP, which could start with around 75,000 units — of which perhaps 50,000 might be in traditional album sales. The album will likely bow at No. 2 behind Views.
