Popular music database and market website Discogs is now an app too.
The first official Discogs app for iOS was released on Monday (Feb. 29) with a focus on the service’s collection and want list function with more sorting and filtering options in development. According to an announcement, the app will be ever evolving around the Discog community’s feedback.

The new app was released as part of Discogs’ 15 year anniversary celebration. It currently includes a barcode scanner that will quickly find a release using the iPhone camera, allowing users to quickly add the correct item to their collection. In the future, it will also make improvements to discography filtering and sorting, offline functions and Discogs marketplace integration.
As well, according to the announcement, they are investigating album cover image search technology, integration with the company’s VinylHub service and more.

Discogs is the largest physical music database in the world and with catalog that boasts more than 6.5 million recordings and 4 million artists. It lists more than 10 million items from thousands of sellers.
