Diane Warren to Keynote 2019 AIMP Indie Music Publishing Summit

Legendary songwriter Diane Warren will keynote the Association of Independent Music Publishers' third annual Indie Music Publishing Summit, the organization announced on Friday.

Legendary songwriter Diane Warren will keynote the Association of Independent Music Publishers’ (AIMP) third annual Indie Music Publishing Summit, the organization announced on Friday (May 3).

“Diane Warren is one of the greatest songwriters of all time, but she is also an incredible businesswoman and indie music publisher,” Teri Nelson-Carpenter, national chair and president of the Los Angeles chapter of the AIMP, said in a statement. “She has so much to share about all aspects of her career, and we’re honored that she will be with us at the AIMP Indie Music Publishing Summit this year.”

The summit will be held June 11 at the 3 West Club in New York City. Warren will be interviewed at the event by radio personality, DJ, author and music writer Meredith Ochs.

In 1987, Warren founded the independent publishing company Realsongs to house her vast catalog of music. The company has since become the most successful female-owned and operated music publisher in the world. She’s charted nine songs at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, had her music featured in over 100 movies and has won one Grammy, one Emmy and three Billboard Music Awards for songwriter of the year. She’s also been nominated for a total of 10 Academy Awards and won a Golden Globe. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2001.

Warren’s most recent release is the ballad “I’m Standing With You,” which was performed by Chrissy Metz for the film Breakthrough. She was nominated for an Oscar last year for writing the song “I’ll Fight” for the Ruth Bader Ginsburg documentary RBG.
