Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Dean Dillon (“Tennessee Whiskey,” “The Chair”) adds record company president to his résumé with the launch of a label that represents a former contestant from NBC’s The Voice.

Dillon is the public face for the imprint, Dean Dillon’s Wildcatter Records, funded by a consortium of Texas businessmen. Sundance Head, who won the fall 2016 season of The Voice after landing on Blake Shelton‘s team, is the initial artist on the roster with Stained Glass and Neon planned as the inaugural album in 2019. The first single from the project — “Leave Her Wild,” written by Lori McKenna (“Humble and Kind,” “Girl Crush”) and J.T. Harding (“Different for Girls,” “Sangria”) — was released through digital outlets in September.

“I’ve been in this business all my life, and with the exception of a couple of people, I’ve never heard anybody sing the way this man does,” said Dillon in a statement. “I think the most amazing thing to me is his vocal range and control. He’s extremely special, and I knew that I had to work with him.”
