Billboard Dance Chart Upstarts: Conro, Jungle & VAVO
Each week, Billboard Dance looks at songs and albums rising on Billboard's dance charts.

Conro, “Take Me There”
Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada-based electronic producer (and classically-trained violinist) Conro (real name Conor Patton) coasts onto Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated May 26) at No. 27 with “Take Me There.” The chart’s top debut claims its radio play from core-dance affiliates, including Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel, iHeartRadio’s Evolution network (as monitored on WFLZ-HD Tampa, Florida) and KNHC (C89.5) Seattle, according to Nielsen Music.
Conro tells Billboard, “‘Take Me There’ is about the emotions of going through the struggles of life, but having someone there you love to walk through those difficult times with, someone special who you can trust and follow no matter what you’re going through.”
Gratefully, he continues, “I’m so excited to be getting all this love from radio! There is no better feeling than driving in the car with family or friends and my song comes on. I was a bit down and out when writing this track, feeling like I had hit a wall and wasn’t getting anywhere. Ironically, this track very much was a break through that wall for me.”
Jungle, “Happy Man”
Jungle swings onto Hot Dance/Electronic Songs at No. 38 with “Happy Man.” The song earned 469,000 U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in the tracking week. While this is Jungle’s first foray onto Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, the act reached No. 3 on Top Dance/Electronic Albums in 2014 with its self-titled debut. That set yielded three appearances on the Mexico Ingles Airplay chart in 2014-15, “Busy Earnin'” (No. 32), “Time” (No. 40) and “Julia” (No. 41). The UK-based collective, led by Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, is on tour through June in support of its upcoming sophomore release, whose track list includes “Happy” and another new song, “House in LA.”
VAVO, “Sleeping Alone”
DJ/production duo VAVO enters Dance/Mix Show Airplay at No. 38 with “Sleeping Alone.” It’s the first Billboard chart appearance for London-based Alden Martin and Vancouver-based Jesse Fischer. “Sleeping” owes its success to airplay on three core-dance affiliates, SiriusXM’s BPM, iHeartRadio’s Evolution network and Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel.
