A Definite Win: Daddy Yankee & Sech’s ‘Definitivamente’ Hits No. 1 on Latin Airplay Chart

A Definite Win: Daddy Yankee & Sech’s 'Definitivamente' hits No. 1.

Daddy Yankee and Sech’s “Definitivamente” hits No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart dated May 30, pushing 4-1 after its previous No. 2 peak (May 16 survey.)

Their first collaboration ascends to the top despite a 3% dip in audience impressions (to 9.71 million) earned in the week ending May 24, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

“Working with Sech was very much spontaneous,” Daddy Yankee told Billboard previously. “The creative process of the song was very much organic. As we met at the studio and listened to the intro of the song, the vibe we both felt made the song extra especial.”

“Definitivamente” was written by both acts and produced by NeKxum and Ovy on the Drums, and mixed by Francisco Saldaña (Luny).

“During my days as a construction worker, I remember saying I would one day be a winner,” Sech stated on his Instagram account. “I would get home and cry but never gave up, never. While I promote the new album, this is how we are on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart, at No. 1 and No. 2. Grateful to my brothers for the opportunity. My respects and admiration to Daddy Yankee and Arcangel.”

Sech places a second title in the Latin Airplay chart’s top 10: “Sigues Con Él,” with Arcangel, drops to No. 2 after its one-week reign (May 23-dated list.)

As “Definitivamente” crowns the chart, Daddy Yankee claims a total of 20 No. 1s and continues to have the third-most No. 1s on the chart, trailing only Enrique Iglesias, who leads with 30, and J Balvin with 22. Sech, meanwhile, secures his third leader.

Elsewhere, “Definitivamente” also sees improvement on the Hot Latin Songs chart, which blends airplay, digital sales and streaming data. The track pushes 24-21 thanks in part an 11% boost in streams.

Meanwhile, “Definitivamente” also hits No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay tally. Daddy Yankee ups his career No. 1 count to 28 and continues to lead all artists with the most No. 1s on this chart.
