With Country Radio Seminar holding its entire conference via virtual hookup for the first time thanks to the pandemic, Country Radio Broadcasters is devoting the entire first day of the four-day event to online issues.
The all-day Streaming Summit on Feb. 16 will include five back-to-back panels that focus on individual platforms, beginning with Amazon Music and followed in order by Pandora, Spotify, YouTube and TikTok.
Making sense of the info is the subject of “Talk Data To Me,” a wonky exploration of how to interpret and capitalize on the reams of information that streaming yields. Stone Door Media Lab founder Jeff Green will moderate with panelists Matthew Yazge and Haley Jones, both of Nielsen/MRC, and Matt Bailey, Integr8 Research.
YouTube head of culture and trends Kevin Allocca closes the day’s educational portion in a fireside chat with Billboard executive editor, West Coast and Nashville Melinda Newman. Amazon Music rounds out the Streaming Summit with Tim McGraw headlining an online concert, Country Heat at CRS, that also boasts Kameron Marlowe, Priscilla Block, Shy Carter and Track45.
The Feb. 17 songwriter showcase, “Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley,” has additionally been expanded. Joining previously announced host Thomas Rhett are Nashville writers Rhett Akins (“Dirt on My Boots,” “I Lived It”) and Parker Welling (“Love You Like I Used To,” “What’s Your Country Song”).
