Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi: British YouTuber Conor Maynard Joins Lineup

British music YouTube star Conor Maynard, Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki, Saudi Arabia’s Dyler and Moroccan boy band Fnaire have joined the lineup of the first-ever Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi, the Viacom network said Tuesday.
Nickelodeon and the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi recently unveiled that they would bring the awards to the Middle East under a five-year deal. Jason Derulo will host and perform at the Sept. 20 event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, with travel YouTuber Haifa Beseisso serving as co-host.
Singer and songwriter Maynard made a name for himself with his debut album Contrast, which included such hits as “Can’t Say No” and “Vegas Girl.”
“With five top 10 singles and a number 1 album to his credit, plus millions of followers at social media, Maynard is one of British music’s biggest success stories,” Nickelodeon said. “He even took his talents to Broadway to star as Charlie Price in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots.”
“I am so excited to be performing at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi, it’s always such a fun show! Here’s hoping I’m not going to get slimed!” said Maynard. Hamaki started his career in 1997, and in 2010 he won the best Arabian act award at the MTV EMAs. Saudi singer and social media star Dyler launched his YouTube career when he was only 12 and now donates 50 percent of his income to a cancer charity.
Moroccan trio Fnaire collaborated with Canada’s Nora Fatehi on the Arabic version of the Indian song “Dilbar” and will perform with her at the Kids’ Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi. Previously announced performers include Derulo, Aminux, Maritta, Al-Waleed Hallani and Fatehi.
“They are all great additions to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi, which is set to be an unmissable show with performances by regional and internationally successful stars,” said Tracey Grant, vp content and channels for VIMN Middle East.
The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi will be recorded live and will air on Nickelodeon on Middle Eastern pay TV giant OSN in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain on Sept. 24. The show will later air globally on Nickelodeon channels in the U.S., U.K., Spain, Italy, Germany, France, India, China, the Philippines and Pakistan.
