As of Tuesday (July 17), Concord Music became the third music publisher this year to join forces with ICE Services — an online music rights licensing and processing hub based in the UK, Germany and Sweden. Earlier this year, Downtown and peermusic also became direct customers of ICE.

As part of the new deal, ICE will be responsible for providing a range of multi-territorial digital licensing and online copyright processing for Concord. This will cover their impressive catalogue of over 380,000 works. Concord’s current roster boasts songwriters and composers Mark Ronson, Dolly Parton, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Eric Whitacre, among many others.

”We have known the ICE team from the beginning in 2012 and love this idea of a direct and simple arrangement with them,” said John Minch, president, publishing for Europe, Concord Music. “It means we can be on top of and monitor all the major deals with DSPs while getting a much quicker, cost-effective and more efficient pay through. This is a great deal for Concord writers and composers.”

ICE commercial director, Ben McEwen, added, “We are delighted to welcome Concord as a direct customer of ICE. The acquisition of Imagem shows the scale of ambition at Concord to grow and develop the music publishing side of their business. As one of the largest and fastest growing independent music publishers, we look forward to a closer collaboration with Jake, John and the team to continue to drive further growth in online revenues for them as part of the ICE Core licence.”
