Cody Johnson has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for exclusive booking representation.
Johnson’s Platinum-selling single “‘Til You Can’t” became a radio and consumption juggernaut this year, notching two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in late March, and spending nine weeks atop the Hot Country Songs chart. His followup single, “Human,” sits at No. 42 on the Country Airplay chart.
Last year, he released two albums and a documentary, including his 18-song project Human: The Double Album, as well as the holiday project A Cody Johnson Christmas. He also released the documentary Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story., which chronicles Johnson’s story of pivoting from a career in rodeo to a career in music.
In 2018, Texas native Johnson teamed with Warner Music Nashville to form his own label imprint, COJO Music/Warner Music Nashville, and released his first major label album, Ain’t Nothing to It, in 2019. That album included the top 15 Country Airplay hit “On My Way to You.”
But even before the hit songs and major label albums, Johnson has spent years building his credentials as a neo-traditionalist steeped in the sounds of ’80s and ’90s country as well as an electrifying showman. He became the only (at the time) unsigned artist to sell out NRG Stadium at RodeoHouston, and this year performed on the Stagecoach Festival’s Mane Stage. In addition to his own headlining shows this year (including a headlining show at Franklin, Tennessee’s First Bank Amphitheater later this week), Johnson will open for Luke Combs at Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium on July 30. He will also open for Zac Brown Band at Citi Field in New York City on Aug. 18.
Johnson is managed by Howie Edelman at Durango Artist Management. Johnson’s attorney is Jess Rosen from Greenberg Traurig, LLP, with business management from Katie Cline Moore of Cline & Co. Johnson was previously signed with Red 11 for booking.
