Music industry attorney and entrepreneur Chris Taylor has been named president of Entertainment One Music (eOne). Taylor’s Canadian recording, publishing and artist management firm Last Gang will also join the eOne fold.
At eOne Taylor will oversee music operations globally and lead strategic growth initiatives across music licensing, publishing, label and distribution, supervising teams in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville and Toronto. Launched in 2003, Last Gang will continue to operate under Taylor as a subsidiary label under eOne. The Last Gang label roster includes Death From Above 1979, Chromeo and Ryan Hemsworth; management clients include Lights and Arkells.
In a release announcing Taylor’s appointment, eOne president/CEO Darren Throop stated, “Chris’ business acumen, strategic management expertise and far-reaching relationships will support the diversification of eOne Music.”
