Puerto Rican pop star Chayanne is set to launch the first single from his new album live at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards on April 24.
The awards show, which airs at 7pm/6c on Telemundo, will feature the singer known for his romantic pop anthems heard around the world through sold-out tours. Chayanne, who has recorded 23 albums and recorded more than 50 music videos, has sold more than 40 million albums around the globe.
The Puerto Rican singer, composer and actor has 28 Top 10s on Hot Latin Songs, the fourth-most chart toppers on the list and four No. 1s on the Top Albums chart. The entertainer has also appeared on the big and small screens on projects such as the film “Dance with Me” and the iconic TV show “Ally McBeal”. In 2010 he was the lead voice to the character Flynn Ryder in the movie “Enredados” (Tangled).
The Billboard Latin Music Awards, presented by State Farm, is the longest-running Latin music awards, which this year will feature performances by 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award honoree Andrea Bocelli, global pop star Laura Pausini, crooner Ricky Martin, salsa icon Marc Anthony, Spanish singer David Bisbal and singer/songwriter Luis Fonsi. Bachata singer Prince Royce will also perform including Colombian superstar Juanes. Venezuelan singer Franco de Vita, who is receiving this year’s Billboard Hall of Fame Award, is also part of the line-up including Mexican groups Banda El Recodo De Cruz Lizarraga and La Arrolladora Banda El Limon De Rene Camacho.
