Justin Timberlake scores his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Nielsen BDS-based Adult Pop Songs chart, as “Mirrors” rises 2-1. “Mirrors” concurrently climbs 12-10 on Adult Contemporary, granting the former ‘N Sync member a top 10 in his first visit to the survey as a soloist. (The group’s “This I Promise You” led AC for 13 weeks in 2000-01.)

Timberlake, meanwhile, scales Pop Songs with two new tracks. In its second week, Jay-Z’s “Holy Grail,” on which Timberlake is featured, pushes 32-31. Simultaneously, Timberlake’s “Take Back the Night” debuts at No. 30. The song introduces the second installment of “The 20/20 Experience,” due Sept. 30. The first edition is the year’s top-selling album (2.1 million), according to Nielsen SoundScan.
