Aided by hourly plays on iHeartMedia-owned stations on its day of release (Oct. 20), Gwen Stefani blasts back onto the Pop Songs and Adult Pop Songs radio airplay charts, at Nos. 29 and 35, respectively, with “Baby Don’t Lie.” It’s her first solo entry since 2007, when “4 in the Morning” rose to No. 16 on each chart. On Pop Songs, Stefani scores her 12th solo hit, with two having hit No. 1: her second, 2001’s “Let Me Blow Ya Mind,” on which she assists Eve, and 2005’s “Hollaback Girl.” With No Doubt, Stefani has made another 11 appearances (1996-2012), with three songs reaching No. 1 (“Don’t Speak,” “Hey Baby” and “Underneath It All”).

Foo Fighters fly to their record-setting fourth Rock Airplay No. 1, as “Something From Nothing” rockets 5-1 in its second week (up by 54 percent to 14 million in format audience, according to Nielsen BDS). They pass the Black Keys and Linkin Park, each with three leaders in the chart’s five-year history. On Mainstream Rock Songs, “Something” soars 16-1 in its second week, becoming the fastest No. 1 in nearly 16 years: Metallica’s “Turn the Page” also vaulted to the top in two weeks in November 1998. Foo Fighters’ new No. 1 previews the album Sonic Highways, due Nov. 10.
