Celine Dion Wraps Summer Tour With $56 Million in the Bank

Celine Dion brought her 2018 summer tour to a close in typically grand fashion, with $56.5 million reported to Billboard Boxscore.

Celine Dion brought her 2018 summer tour to a close in typically grand fashion, with grosses of $56.5 million reported to Billboard Boxscore. Played across 22 shows in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, Dion sold 250,000 tickets. The biggest engagement of the tour was a three-night stay at Taiwan’s Taipei Arena with $10.7 million grossed, though her one show at the Tokyo Dome delivered the biggest attendance tally, at 42,748.

With a career spanning three decades, Dion has earned her stripes as a touring titan. After an extended hiatus around the turn of the millennium to raise her first child, she re-emerged with a residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, taking in $376 million from 2003 to 2007. Dion began another Vegas residency in 2011 that will play through next year but, in the meantime, she continues to tour internationally, hitting non-domestic markets each summer. Her $56 million haul this year follows the $63 million grossed during the Celine Dion Live 2017 tour and $48 million during summer 2016.

Dion’s success on the road follows her conquering of the recording industry. Dion has accumulated four No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 No. and four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 over the course of her career. She has spent 87 weeks atop the Adult Contemporary chart so far, more than any other artist in history.

As previously mentioned, Dion will return to The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas for 24 more dates, beginning October 30 and running through January 20, 2019.
