Billboard’s Canadian Hot 100 Now Incorporates Spotify Listening

The Canadian Hot 100 now incorporates data from one of the most-popular on-demand streaming services, following the company's launch in Sept.

Billboard’s Canadian Hot 100 chart now officially incorporates data from Spotify, which launched in the country last Sept. Nielsen began tracking the data in October, which also takes into account physical and download track and singles sales, radio airplay and other sources of on-demand streaming including YouTube (including Vevo on YouTube), Rdio, Google Play, Slacker, Nokia MixRadio and Xbox Music.

The first Candian Hot 100 chart to incorporate the Spotify data is now live, with Taylor Swift at No. 1, Hozier at No. 2 and Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars at No. 3.
