The Bonfyre & 6lack’s ‘U Say’ Hits No. 1 on Adult R&B Songs Chart
Rising R&B star The Bonfyre earns her second No. 1 and 6lack clocks his first on the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart as "U Say" ascends.

Rising R&B star The Bonfyre earns her second No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs airplay chart as “U Say,” featuring 6lack, ascends from the runner-up rank on the list dated Feb. 8. The collaboration leads the list in its 28th week on the chart and picks up an 11% boost in plays at the radio format in the week ending Feb. 2, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The Bonfyre, born Chelsey LaRue, previously topped Adult R&B Songs with her first entry, “Automatic,” for four weeks in March-April 2019. With “Automatic” and “U Say,” the R&B singer becomes the first act to send her first two chart entries to the summit since Queen Naija reigned with the five-week leader “Medicine” in December 2018-January 2019 and followed with “Karma” in May 2019. The Bonfyre is signed to L.A. Reid’s HITCO label through Raphael Saddiq’s Toler Heights imprint.
For 6lack, “U Say,” secures his first Adult R&B Songs No. 1 with his maiden chart entry. The singer/rapper has, however, established a presence on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart, with five charted hits there, including “U Say.”
The Adult R&B success helps “Say” return to the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which combines audience reach from a slate of adult-leaning and mainstream-oriented R&B/hip-hop stations. The track climbs with a 14% boost to 11 million in audience in the week ending Feb. 2, and prompts a No. 15 revival on the chart, nearing its peak of No. 12 from last December.
