BMG Signs Deal With Sample-Library Platform Tracklib

BMG has signed a deal with sample licensing startup Tracklib.

BMG has signed a deal with sample licensing startup Tracklib. The arrangement gives the Stockholm-based platform access to a significant chunk of BMG’s catalog, and greatly expands its database of 100,000-plus tracks available in high-quality file formats.

One of a handful of digital libraries for samples, Tracklib is utilized by music producers looking for a simple and affordable way to get legal clearance for tracks. Prices are fixed and licenses are issued instantly via the platform, helping to ease what it calls one of the industry’s “thorniest ongoing issues.”

“Tracklib is here to serve both big-name producers who are used to clearing samples, and understand how much Tracklib simplifies the process, as well as aspiring producers who never had the possibility to clear samples before,” says Tracklib co-founder and CEO Pär Almqvist. “We have strong support from the artist community. Our partnership with BMG demonstrates how established labels and publishers are getting behind our new approach to music licensing.”
