The Last Time Beyonce Had a Baby, Blue Ivy Carter Made Chart History
As featured on dad Jay Z's "Glory" in 2012, then-newborn "B.I.C." became the youngest person ever to appear on a Billboard chart.

No pressure, future siblings, but Blue Ivy Carter set a Billboard chart record when she was just days old.
After the bundle of joy was brought into the world by megastar Beyonce (with a little help from fellow famous dad Jay Z) on Jan. 7, 2012, Blue Ivy became the youngest person ever credited with gracing a Billboard ranking, as Jay Z’s then newly recorded-and-released studio cut “Glory,” billed as by Jay Z featuring B.I.C., the latter an abbreviation for Blue Ivy Carter, began at No. 74 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (dated Jan. 21, although released Jan. 12).
Blue Ivy’s sentimental father recorded his precious girl’s first seconds of life – her breathing, cries and coos – resulting in her featured role on their record-setting song (which drew 1.7 million airplay impressions upon its chart entrance five years ago, according to Nielsen Music).
Notably, Stevie Wonder recorded a similar musical souvenir of his then-newborn daughter Aisha on his iconic song “Isn’t She Lovely.” However, as the chart featuring Blue Ivy’s bow was released mere days after her birth, she became the artist to make a Billboard chart the most quickly after her own actual debut. “Lovely” did not reach a tally until Jan. 29, 1977, when it entered Adult Contemporary at its No. 23 peak, almost two years after she was born; plus, and even more pertinent to eligibility for the record, Aisha was not officially credited on Wonder’s classic.
So, Blue Ivy set the bar high for her eventual little brothers and/or sisters. Then again, they’re already a part of another historic mark even ahead of their arrival: Just seven hours after Beyonce announced on Instagram yesterday (Feb. 1) that she’s expecting twins, the accompanying photo became the most-liked picture ever on the platform — it’s now up to 8.1 million likes and rising.
