Black Eyed Peas and Shakira add a new No. 1 to their scorecards as “Girl Like Me” jumps 4-1 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated March 13). It’s the Peas’ fourth consecutive No. 1 and Shakira’s 15th — her first since “Clandestino,” with Maluma, ruled for one week in Sept. 2018.
“Girl Like Me” advances to the top boosted by a 33% gain in audience impressions, to 11 million, earned in the week ending March 7, according to MRC Data.
The song is the fifth single from Black Eyed Peas’ Translation, the trio’s first bilingual LP. It debuted at No. 3 on the Top Latin Albums chart and No. 52 on the all-genre Billboard 200 (dated July 4, 2020).
The Black Eyed Peas boast their fourth Latin Airplay No. 1 from the same album. The last act to pull four No. 1s from an album was Bad Bunny, with four No. 1 hits from his 35- week No. 1 set YHLQMDLG: “Vete” (one week, March 2020), “Yo Perreo Sola” (two weeks, June 2020), “La Difícil” (one week, Aug. 2020) and “La Santa” (one week, Dec 2020).
