The first leader for both acts, “Ritmo” halts the chart-record 69-week reign of Marshmello and Bastille’s “Happier,” which had led every week since Sept. 29, 2018.
“Happier,” thus, takes second place for the most weeks at No. 1 on any of Billboard‘s “Hot”-named hybrid song charts that (since October 2012) blend streaming, airplay and sales data. Lauren Daigle’s “You Say” pulls into the lead by itself, continuing for a 70th week at No. 1 on Hot Christian Songs.
“Ritmo,” also extends its No. 1 run on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs (to two weeks) and Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales (six). The track earned 6.7 million U.S. streams and sold 3,000 downloads in the week ending Jan. 16, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The song, which adds a fourth week at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, contains a prominent sample of Corona’s Eurodance smash “The Rhythm of the Night,” which reached No. 7 on Dance Club Songs and No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1995.
Additionally on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Galantis grabs its third top 10 and Dolly Parton, her first, with “Faith” (12-10); the track is the second top 10 for featured vocalist Mr. Probz. “Faith” drew 1.2 million U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in the tracking week.
The track has already hit No. 1 on two Billboard charts: Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales (Nov. 9) and Dance/Mix Show Airplay (Dec. 21), with the former coronation marking country icon Parton’s first-ever No. 1 on a Billboard dance/electronic survey.
